Did you enjoy Japan?「日本は楽しかったですか？」とそのまま聞いてもいいですが、私の感覚では相手が自国に帰国してから向こうの家族や友達などにこれを尋ねられるようなニュアンスのものに感じます。
そこで受け入れ（日本）側の言い方としては、
So, how do you like Japan now?
「（滞在を終えた今の感想として）日本はどう？」
と尋ねたり、もしくは疑問文ではないのですが、
I hope you enjoyed staying here.
「ここ（日本）での滞在を楽しんでもらえたといいんですが」
のように言うと、相手の方はきっと感想を述べてくれると思います。
他には：
Did you have a good time in Japan?
「日本で楽しい時間を過ごしましたか？」

直安に近いのですが、「日本は楽しかった？」と聞くのもOKだと思います。
初級者を促進しているのですが、簡単な文ですし、すぐ使える英語ですので、参考になれば幸いです。

あとは、「楽しかったですか？」→旅行の感想を聞いているので、「日本での旅行はどうだった？」と変えてみるとこのような英語になります。
How was ～？で「～はどうだった？」という意味になり、相手に意見や感想を聞く表現となります。
１．How was your day? 「今日はどうでしたか？」
２．How was your holiday? 「休みはどうでしたか？」

“your time”（あなたの時間）や”your stay”（あなたの滞在）

If you want to know what a person did during a trip, ask 'what did you do in Japan?'

When one travels to a country like Japan, one would want to visit places of interest such as Buddhist shrines or temples. One would also want to be guided to other tourist resorts. 上記のように英語で表現することができます。
time と言うと、「過ごした時間」のようなニュアンスになるので、旅行でも留学でも、さまざまなシチュエーションで使うことができます。
