The opposite side of the world 「世界（地球）の裏側」
Brazil is on the exact other side of the planet from Japan. It’s way too far for me to visit.
「ブラジルは日本からみて真裏に位置します。あまりに遠すぎて旅行できません。」
余談になりますが、地球の裏側を教えてくれるサイトAntipodr(Antipodesの意味は「地球の裏」）ってご存知ですか？住所を入力すると、そこの真裏に位置するロケーションを教えてくれます。ちなみに東京の真裏はウルグアイ沖、沖縄はぎりぎりブラジルの南部みたいです。
”ブラジルは日本から見て地球の真裏にあるから、とてもじゃないけど行けないよ”
と言いたい場合は：
「Brazil is the on opposite side of the world from Japan, I can't possibly go there!」がパーフェクトな訳文です。。。が、
「I can't possibly go there!」は結構古臭く、会話では言いにくいので、「遠すぎる」と言うほうが自然です：
「Brazil is the on opposite side of the world from Japan, it's too far!」
「② The other side of the world.」は「opposite」を「other side」（いずれも逆側を意味する）に交換しただけで、特に使い分ける必要もありません。

地球をあらわす表現としては、globe, world, the earthなどいろいろ表現できますね。
日本からだとブラジルってすごい遠いんですね。アメリカにいると南米はそんなに遠くないイメージです。（行ったことないですけど）アメリカにいた時はアジアはすごく遠いイメージでしたね。
日本に引っ越すと告げたら、友人に言われました。

When we are having a casual conversation it is not always necessary to be precise. Often we just need to give someone a general idea about what we are talking about so that they can imagine it in their mind.
"It's half way across the world" is a great sentence to use to tell someone it is a very long distance from Japan.
カジュアルな会話をしているとき、常に詳細に言う必要はありません。私たちは話していることに対してだいたいの内容を伝え、相手に想像してもらいます。
"It's half way across the world" （それは世界半周です。）
これは日本からとても離れているということを伝える際のとてもいい表現です。
The expression "other side of the world" is a common English expression and requires no explanation. It is also used in a variety of contexts. For instance: "It will be encouraging for the grieving family to know that someone from the other side of the world is thinking of them.”
The idea is that a person residing an unspecified distance from the aforementioned family is nonetheless connected to them by means of his/her's positive or sympathetic thoughts.
"other side of the world"（世界の別の面）とはよく使われる英語表現で説明はいりません。これは様々な文章でも使われます。例えば以下のように使われます。
"It will be encouraging for the grieving family to know that someone from the other side of the world is thinking of them.”
悲しんでいる家族にとって世界の真裏で自分たちを思ってくれている人がいると考えることは励みになるでしょう。
家族と遠く離れた場所で暮らしていても前向きで思いやりのある気持ちを持つことによって繋がっているというアイデアです。

Japan and Brazil are on opposite ends of the world.
When you want to explain that Brazil is far from Japan; then you can say:
-Brazil is on the other side of the world.
-Japan and Brazil are on opposite ends of the world.
-Japan is in the east of the planet, and Brazil is on the west end of it.

With these two phrases we can either use the expression, "the other side," or, "to opposite side," to express that something is very far away from us or at least on the other side of the world if looking at the earth from far away.
