Rather than stating this as an instruction, it is more polite to rephrase it as a question; to use the word 'please'; to inform the listener of what you would like; or to use the phrase "let's". Both of the last two suggestions allow the listener to either agree and accept your suggestion or to offer another solution.
acting up = 正常に作動していない／問題を起こしている
