こんにちは!まさに私も10年前世界一周をしたのでよく使っていた表現です。
go on a round-the-world trip
世界一周の旅に出る
a round-the-world trip=世界一周の旅
ハイフンを付けることで、名詞の前に置く形容句になります。
(他の例:a 13-year-old girl 13歳の女の子)
世界中を旅する、であれば、travel around the world と表現します。
例:My friend traveled around the world for two years.
(私の友だちは2年かけて世界一周しました)
また round-the-world は、よくRTWと省略されて、世界一周航空券はRTW ticketと呼ばれます。航空会社のアライアンスごとにいろいろな種類のチケットを出していますよ。
世界一周の旅に出たい:
★I want to travel around the world.
★I want to go on a round-the-world trip.
("around-the-world"と言う人もいます)
★I want to go on a trip around the world.
ちなみに、ニュアンスで言うと、"round-the-world trip"は本当に世界一周をするという意味合いがあります。I want to travel around the worldはニュアンス的に、「私は世界中を旅したい」ともとらえられます。
1)Trip around the world- This means a trip around the world.
It doesn't necessarily mean that you have visited every country.
For example:
Last year we had a trip around the world with my family.
1)Trip around the world
これは、世界を旅すること意味します。
すべての国に訪問したことを意味するわけではありません。
例文

去年、家族と世界一周をしました。

2. Trip around the world.

Wanderlust is a very strong desire to travel. An example of wanderlust is someone who, just after returning home from a two month trip, immediately starts planning their next one.
Globetrotting
= travelling to a lot of different countries:
"Japan last month, New York next month
- you're always globetrotting!"
Circumvent the world
= go around the world:
"Paul has just circumvented the world on a cruise liner."
Wanderlustとは旅に出たい強い欲求のこと。
例えば、旅に出ていて二ヶ月に一回くらいしか家に戻らず、帰ったらまたすぐどこかへ行く計画を立てるような人です。
Globetrotting =様々な国へ旅行すること
例
"Japan last month, New York next month - you're always globetrotting!"
先月は日本、来月はニューヨークで、君は旅行にいっつも行っているね。
Circumvent the world = go around the world:
世界中を回る。
例
"Paul has just circumvented the world on a cruise liner."
ポールはクルージングのツアーで世界一周した。
The noun 'globetrotting' refers to traveling around the world regularly usually because of the nature of the job that one does such as journalism whereby one is required to report on events happening around the world. In contrast, a round-the-world ticket is a commercial ticket sold to travelers that want to travel the world by airplane at a relatively low price. These tickets may be bought directly from some airlines or from travel agents.
So, you may say:
I am addicted to globetrotting. I am scheduled to fly tomorrow at 12.00 pm.
or
I have bought myself a round-the-world ticket and I will depart at 12.00 pm tomorrow.
or
I have bought myself a round-the-world fare and I will depart at 12.00 pm tomorrow.
globetrotting'(世界を回ること)という名詞は、通常は世界中で起きる事件を報道することが求められるジャーナリズムなどのように、仕事で定期的に世界を回ることを指します。それに対して、’round-the-world ticket’(世界一周航空券)は比較的安い値段で飛行機で世界を回りたい旅行者向けの商業的なチケットです。こういったチケットはいくつかの航空会社から直接、または旅行代理店を通じて買うことができます。
そこで、あなたはこのように尋ねると良いでしょう。
例文
I am addicted to globetrotting. I am scheduled to fly tomorrow at 12.00 pm.
私は世界旅行に夢中です。明日昼の12時の飛行機に乗る予定です。
I have bought myself a round-the-world ticket and I will depart at 12.00 pm tomorrow.
世界一周航空券を買ったので、明日昼の12時に飛行機で出発します。
I have bought myself a round-the-world fare and I will depart at 12.00 pm tomorrow.
世界一周航空券を買ったので、明日昼の12時に飛行機で出発します。
Travelling is the most common phrase. It can mean travelling in just one country, or many countries!
'Hitting the road' is a phrase which means to travel to many places and for a long period of time.
Globetrotting - 'Globe' means 'Earth' or 'World', and 'Trotting' or to 'Trot' is like walking or skipping. It is used to describe travelling to many different places, skipping from one country to another.
A trip around the world, or the act of travelling around the world, is generally called just that, travelling around the word, or, round the world trip.
For example.
Where are you going with all that?
A round the world trip.
You are travelling around the whole world?
That is more or less the plan.
Good luck then.
I hope this helps.
Have a great day.
