⓵ Are you enjoying your stay in Japan? ⓶ How are you enjoying your stay in Japan?

To someone who is visiting Japan, and you wish to enquire if they are enjoying it, then the above suggestion seems appropriate. An open question always encourages more conversation and information than a yes/no question!

Those two options are great for when asking someone about their holiday. If they went on a more serious or business type of trip, you could also ask. "How was everything in Japan?" Yet, typically the other two expressions are great to use when asking someone about their holiday.
