本体って英語でなんて言うの？

bodyやmain bodyと言っていいです。 例 モニターは机の上だが、本体は机の下にある。 The monitor is on top of the desk but the main body of the computer is under the desk.

アメリカ英語のネイティブスピーカーとして、パソコンについて話す時に "body" とか "main body" を使ったことがありません。パソコンについて話す時に「本体」はあんまりいい訳はないと思いますが、箱の形をしている「パソコン」は英語で "PC" がいいと言います。 「パソコン」＝ computer 「パソコン本体」＝ PC 「今日新しいパソコンとキーボードを買いました。パソコン本体は本当にいいです。前のパソコンよりたくさん情報記憶スペースがあります。」＝ I bought a new computer and keyboard today. The PC is really nice. It has a lot more space than my old computer.
