ベルトの金具は buckle と言います。
1) put one's belt through the buckle
「ベルトを金具に通す」
2) do up the buckle
「ベルトをしめる」＝「しめる」ということは金具に通しているということなので、このようにも言えます。
undo the buckle
「金具を外す」
loosen the belt/strap on your purse
「鞄のベルト/ストラップを緩める」
buckle the belt on the second notch
「ベルトを２番目の穴でしめる」
「２番目の穴」は the second notch と言えます。
