壁に３枚の絵が飾ってあり、位置と絵をそれぞれ説明したいのですが、
The painting on the left is a deer's. と言えますか？
ここでのdeer'sは、deer's picture の繰り返しを避ける為に省略の意味で使ったのですが、文字で見ないとa deers と聞こえますよね？
The painting on the left is a deer, the one in the middle is a bird and the one on the right is a leaf I think.
That's a painting of a deer on the left, the one in the center is a bird and the one on the other side looks like a leaf.
どちらも「左の絵は鹿で、真ん中は鳥、右の絵は多分葉っぱ。」という言い方です。
1) The painting on the left is a deer, the one in the middle is a bird and the one on the right is a leaf I think.
「左の絵は鹿で、真ん中が鳥で、右は葉っぱだと思います。」
2) That's a painting of a deer on the left, the one in the center is a bird and the one on the other side looks like a leaf.
「左のは鹿の絵で、真ん中のは鳥で、反対側のが葉っぱのように見えます。」
the painting on the left is a painting of a deer と言うと painting の繰り返しになるので、the painting on the left is a deer で「左の絵は鹿（の絵）」という言い方になります。
the painting in the middle は the painting on the left の the painting と繰り返しになるので the one in the middle や the one on the right としてあげます。
