同様のものを使うって英語でなんて言うの？

use the same thing だと　「同じものを使う」という意味ですが use something similar というと「似たものを使う」となるので全く同じものではないが、同じ系統のものという意味になります。「以前使ったものと同様のもの」というのであれば the same thing that was used before となります。 「以前使ったものと同様のものを用いた」は we used the same thing that was used before または the same thing as before was used など。どうぞご参考に。
