1. How many hours will it take?
「何時間かかりますか？」
2. How long will it take?
「どれくらい時間かかりますか？」
1は直訳に近いですが、2は「何時間」とせず、どれくらい時間がかかるのかを聞いています。
答えが必ずしも「〜時間」じゃない場合にも便利です。

何かが終わるまで、あるいは出来上がるまで何時間か聞く場合は、How many hours will it take? と聞きます。
ユーザーさんの言ったように、飛行機で、着陸まで何時間ですか？と聞く場合は、How many hours is it to/until ~? と言います。
「～」の所に地名を入れるならtoです → How many hours is it to San Francisco?
「～」の所に「到着」など他の名詞を入れるならuntilです → How many hours is it until landing?
