No signal on a phone will prevent someone from making and receiving calls or texts. When your phone is out of range you can say 'I have no signal on my phone' or 'the network is really bad here'
You can also tell someone that 'there is no reception' these phrases indicate that there might be a problem using your phone.

No reception = this means that you are receiving no signal.
No bars = many mobile phones show the strength of the signal in a bar form. If you have no bars, you are receiving no signal.
"Why didn't you answer my call this morning?"
"Sorry, I was in the country and out of contact with a radio mast."
No reception = 電波を受けれてないという時に使います。
No bars = Barはアンテナのことを指します。一本もアンテナがない、すなわち電波がない。
例
"Why didn't you answer my call this morning?"
"Sorry, I was in the country and out of contact with a radio mast."
The terms mean that you are not able to use your phone because it has no/low coverage.
This means that the area you are in does not have a strong signal/coverage and you are unreachable.
Unreachable means people are not able to call you or message you.
To be "in an area with no signal"
you could say something like
"I've got no signal".
"There is no phone signal here".
or more formally
"I've got no reception".
もしもあなたが電波のないエリア "in an area with no signal" にいるならば下記のように言えます。

You can say my phone doesn't have any: "bars" or "reception" both of these words mean the same thing as "signal". If your phone has no signal this could be due you being far away from the reception towers, or being underground so it's difficult for your phone to pick up the signal from the reception towers.
When saying that you do not have a signal, that means that your network cannot pick-up on you and you are unable to communicate with someone. You have a few ways of saying this. You can use all three of the,. Note that when you say you have a "bad" reception or "bad" network connection, you are saying that you have some, but you cannot really connect to it and it takes a long time for the cellphone to pick up on it. You can change "bad" to "no". So for example you can say " I have no network connection" or "I have no reception."
We can refer to, "bars," as the strength of connection that is typically shown on smart phones (one bar being the least, four being the most), but we can also refer to the strength of the, "signal."
You could use any of the above two sentences to state that you cannot reach signal or that your phone or device has no signal.
- My phone has no signal.
or
- I have no network coverage at the moment.
