日が長いって英語でなんて言うの？

A "The days are so long this time of year!" B "Yes, it's wonderful isnt it?" A "Dawn comes early and sunset comes late." B "I'm not looking forward to the winter."

In summer, we have longer days, which means, we have more sunlight/daytime hours. "Our summer days are longer!" "We have more daylight in summer!" "In summer we have more daylight hours!"

The whole world over summer has longer sunny days than winter. Therefore the logical conclusion is that "During summer the days are longer." This gives us time to soak up the sunshine! Often these longer days are accompanied by 'daylight saving' this is where we change the clocks and put it forward one hour. This allows people to have more sunlight as it is like an extra hour in the afternoon (one less in the morning!) Great for night owls! Though it does make it harder for children to get to sleep in the summertime! "I love long summer days." The reference to the sun being out longer, makes me think of 'long summer days' spent by the beach. For me, this is a positive connotation. However, some people do prefer the cold and snow days. Therefore, you could say "These long hot summer days make me wish for winter!"

In Summer in Melbourne, we have daylight savings which gives an extra hour of daylight where the sun sets later and so making it a longer day for people to do different activities or make use of the longer day.
