I'm trying to find ways of saying "素材" but without saying "ingredient" for food.
素材 basicly means "the material of the food" but it sounds like cloth. So, can I get some help here?
I can't really think of any other term for 'ingredients' but
'food contents' may be a close expression.
食べ物の素材 は ingredients としか言いようがないと思いますが
それに近い表現だと food contents が良いと思います。
素材 は material とも言えますが food material と言うと確かに
布っぽい感じな表現になりますね。
