助動詞の細かいニュアンスが難しい、わからないって英語でなんて言うの？

You can choose it.それを選ぶことが出来る。
You could choose it.それを選ぶことも出来る。

こんな感じなのかなぁと、なんとなく適当な感覚で助動詞を使っています。こまかいニュアンスがわかれば、楽しいのになぁと思いながら、英語を喋っています。
