When the husband gets a job transfer, the wife follow after him, as if that were a given.

"In Japan, if a couple does not have any children and the husband gets a job transfer, it is assumed that the wife will quit her job in order to follow her husband. However, if the wife gets a job transfer, would her husband quit his job in order to follow his wife? It is most unlikely that this would happen. I am dissatisfied with this current state of affairs."

"When a husband gets transferred to another location, it’s just expected that his wife will leave her job to follow him."
