Aside from Japan,
日本以外で
Other than JapanもOKですが、次の文にotherが出てくるので個人的にaside fromの方がいいかなと思いました。
日本人以外で＝aside from Japanese peopleになりますが、
次の文はwhat other country's people are your studentsなどになります。結構不自然な言い方なので、
what other countries are your students from?
直訳：生徒さんの母国は他になんですか？
にしました。

「日本人以外で」＝「other than Japanese」
「どこの国の生徒さんがいますか？」＝「what are the nationalities of (your) students?」
このフレーズでは「nationalities」＝「国籍」は利用されています。もちろん、もっと簡単に言いたかったら、「what nationalities」の代わりに「where are (they) from」も言っても大丈夫です。そうすると、「Japanese」＝「日本の」ではなく「日本」を使います。
あとは「other」＝「他の」があった方が良いと思います。
