（時計などの）画面が光るって英語でなんて言うの？

「光る」はglowとも言えますが、この場合は、ボタンを押すと画面が光っていない状態から光っているようになります。これは英語でlight upと言います。一方glowはどちらかというと「光り続ける」と、光をずっと放っている状態を表しています。 例文 If you push the button on the side of the watch, the screen will light up. 腕時計の側面にあるボタンを押すと画面が光ります。 He was easy to find in the dark because the screen of his phone was glowing. 彼は、スマホの画面が光っていたから暗闇でも見つかりやすかった。

The screen lights up. The display lights up. The screen turns on. The backlight comes on. It glows. 　 「画面が光る」は、日常英語だと lights up が自然です。 lights up は「パッと光る／点灯する」という感じで、腕時計やスマホ、ボタンを押した時の画面にぴったりです。
