"What are we?" はよく使われます。「私達はどういう関係」の意味です。
"Are we dating?" でも大丈夫です。「私達は付き合っている？」

恋人同士 = lovers; boyfriend and girlfriend (or boyfriend/boyfriend, girlfriend/girlfriend); or couple! カップル！
恋人 は　lover でもいいと思います。
