洗濯機が無かったら（でもそれはあくまでも仮定）、というシチュエーションなので、「毎日洗わないだろう」を"...would not wash every day"と表現するほうが文法的に好ましいと思います。
追加："smell"は単数形で使うことの方が多いと思います。もし↑のようなシチュエーションで、様々な酷い臭いがする、と言いたければ"smells"、でも一般的に酷い臭いがする、であれば"a smell"を使います。
