水の性質が違うって英語でなんて言うの？

「水の性質が違う」は英語で「the hardness of the water is different」と言います。「性質」は英語で「property」と言いますが、「the properties of the water are different」をいうと硬水（hard water）の話をすぐ理解できないのではっきり「the hardness of the water is different」を言えば相手がすぐ理解してくれると思います。 ロンドンの水は硬水で日本とは水の性質が違うからケトルとかはすぐ石灰でガビガビになるよ。 The hardness of the water is different in London compared to Japan, and so the kettles quickly get covered in calcium.
