本棚に本が並んでいて、とある所に白い本があり、その本の左右に（両側に）ある２冊の本を取って欲しいとお願いしたいです。

この場合、次のような言い方ができます。

ーCan you get the two books on the left and right of the white one?
「白い本の左右にある２冊の本を取ってくれない？」

ーCan you pass me the books on each side of the white one?
「白い本の両側にある本を取ってくれない？」

このように two books on the left and right of the white one や books on each side of the white one を使って言うことができます。
