Well, I was planning to visit India,

でも考えてみたらそれも悪くないね

because I've been apart from my home for so long and I got a bad tooth too.
日本（故郷）を離れて長くなったし、虫歯ができたっていうのもあるし。

長くなったので文を３つに切ってみました！

この後は日本に帰るの？と問われ、
"Are you going back to Japan after this?" I was asked.

「当初はこの後はインドに行こうと思っていたが久しく帰ってないし丁度最近虫歯もできたので日本に一旦帰るのも悪くないね」
