教授と議論の末、論文のテーマをAに絞ることにしたって英語でなんて言うの？

当初予定していたテーマ•論点が広すぎたので、ポイントを絞って議論するという時に英語でどう表現すればよいでしょうか？

論文のテーマをAに絞ることにした
I decided to narrow the the subject of  my thesis/dissertation/paper down to A.

narrow B down A  　　Bを Aに絞る

the subject of my thesis/dissertation/paper   
論文のテーマ　（subject はtopic でも可）

論文　thesis　あるいは　dissertation また、単にpaper でもOKです。
