その日の前日って英語でなんて言うの？

「その日の前の日」はだいたい
the day before that (day)と言います。

実は、「おととい」や「明後日」の場合も同じような言い方になります。

おととい＝the day before yesterday
明後日= the day after tomorrow

もうちょっと丁寧な言い方は
The previous day
と言います。

A: Did you go to the beach on the 6th?
B: No, we went on the day before that.
No, we went on the previous day

定冠詞の「the」を使うことで「特定の日の前日」を示すことになります。

なお、「その日の翌日」と言いたいときは「the following day」を使えば良いでしょう。

「その日の前日」は英語で 'the day before' とか 'the previous day' と言います。

反対語は (その次の日) 'the next day', 'the following day' となります。

'Yesterday' (昨日)と 'tomorrow' (明日) と違って、これらの表現は「今日」をベ－スとすることではなくて、話し手と話し相手が知っている、ある日に基づいています。
