削るって英語でなんて言うの？

"shave down"はその物の本体を削って小さくする。
"Shave down the edge of the drawer." 「引き出しの端を削る。」

"shave off"は本体から何かを削り取る。
"Shave off the corners." 「角を削り取る」
"Shave off the tip." 「尖ったところを削る」

「歯を削る」場合は、電動ドリルを使って削るのでdrillを使って言い表せます。
このdrillは動詞です。

他にもドリルで削る場合はdrillが使えます。

岩を削 = Sharpen a rock
歯を削る = Scrape teeth
塗装面を削る = Sharpen the painted surface

になります。
あと，「鉛筆を削る」= to sharpen a pencil.
