Hey(Excuse me), you dropped something. Excuse me, where is the lost and found?

We keep lost property for three weeks. 「オフィスに誰かのお財布が落ちていた」= I saw someone's wallet in the office. Has anyone seen my wallet? Has anyone turned in my wallet?

Generally, this is described as 'lost property.' Some train stations and airports have lost property offices where such items are stored and recorded. The police in the UK are also able to manage property found by members of the public. If property is found and taken to a lost property office, this may also be described as 'personal property handed in.' "Excuse me, I found this personal property in the street. Where should I take it?" "The lost property office is over there." "Thanks."

Usually some places have a lost and found department where lost items are handed in just in case the owner comes back looking for it. For example: A:I lost my wallet B:What color A:Red B: Okay let me check in the lost and found box.
A:I lost my wallet A:Red 赤です。 B: Okay let me check in the lost and found box.

As other commenters have said, we can call items that were lost a "lost item." However, on the other side of that, we can also call them "found items!" For example, if you left your phone at a restaurant, you could return to the restaurant and say, "I'm looking for a lost item" or "Have any lost items been turned in?" On the other side, the staff at that restaurant might say, "Here are all the found items." And they would likely keep those items in the lost and found. Have a great day! :)
"I'm looking for a lost item" または "Have any lost items been turned in?" 反対に、レストランのスタッフは "Here are all the found items."

Also, A wallet gone missing! Explanation: The words 'misplaced', 'lost', 'missing or 'gone missing' are used when stating that something cannot be found. The word 'missing' can also be used to indicate a person who is not to be found. A 'lost' person on the other hand is one who is confused or one who cannot find his way back to a certain place.
また、 A wallet gone missing!
