When we ask someone to go through something, it means to skim through the information and correct any mistakes or highlight missing things.

There are many ways you can ask your boss for and comments. I have used the above in many business situations. All examples are polite but demonstrate that you would value feedback. It is important to choose your words carefully to show that you expect a response so finish with something like “I look forward to hearing from you".

It depends if you wish your boss to read through and sanction a proposal, or just give you an opinion about the accuracy and appropriacy of something you have prepared.
The first example sentence would be useful where you have perhaps prepared a detailed offer to a client, setting out the part your company will play in the proposal.
The second sentence may be for a case where you have an idea to make improvements in the company system of operation and wish to know your boss's initial impression.
Can you double check the attached documents for me?
We are always checking our own work, but if we want another person to look it over again, then that person is "double checking" the work. In this situation, we are asking them to double check our documents that we have sent to them.
