留年って英語でなんて言うの？

"repeat a year"というのが「留年する」という意味になります。

「年を繰り返す」という直訳になります。

「出来れば/可能であれば」と言う場合には"if possible,~"を活用すると良いでしょう。

I might have to repeat a year since the tests are going to be harder next year!!

harderの代わりにtougherを使う人もいます。
tough(頑丈）＝一筋縄ではいかない＝hard（難しい）と言う表現になります。

何故ならtestだけだと何の試験か想像しにくいからです。
Testを使う場合は

biology test 生物学テスト

因みにアメリカだと留年する人をrepeaterと言います。
