Sometimes children have a hard time resisting the flu virus because their immune system aren't fully developed yet.
1) 「子供の免疫機能は未発達なので、インフルエンザにかかりやすい」という意味になります。
immune system：「抗体」「免疫」
2) 「子供によっては免疫機能が未発達なのでインフルエンザに抵抗することが出来ない。」という意味になります。
この回答ではresist「抵抗する」を使いました。この動詞は物、人どちらにも使用することが出来ます。何かと戦う時、考え方に反対するとき、感情を抑える時などにも使えます。
