The house that is diagonally across from us to the left.
例１は、「道を挟んで真向かいの家の左側の家」と言う意味です。
ちょっと長々とややこしい言い方になってしまいますよね。
例２は、「左斜め向かいの家」と言う意味です。
「真向かいの左」と言うことは「斜め前」と言うことですので、「斜めに・対角線的に」という意味のdiagonallyが使えます。
to the left 「左に」を付けることで「左斜め向かい」と言えます。
