事件って英語でなんて言うの？

事件は英語で　Incident/Caseと言います。

以下に、例文を挙げておきます。参考にしてみてください。
1) This incident made national headlines.
この事件は全国で報道された

2) The royal family has nothing to do with this case.
この事件は皇室とは何ら関係ない

ニュースなどで使う「事件」の全体を events と言います。

例）

世界中の様々な事件を報道します
We report on various events from around the world

一つの事件を指す時に incident の方を使うことが多いです。

例）

昨日、中区で強盗の事件ありました。
There was a robbery incident in Naka ward yesterday.

一般的に言えば、事件は英語で incident または case と言います。この二つの言葉はこの場合だいたい同じ意味があるけど、使いかたはすこし違います。

よくつかわれている言い方：
a __ case (ie, a murder case)
an incident involving __ (ie, an incident involving two cars)
detectives are working on the case
detectives are investigating the incident

ビジネスでもよく事件のことを「Incident」と言います。

サイバーセキュリティだと「Incident response」（事件対応）と使っています。

「事件」は言い方がいくつかありますが、刑事的な事件はよくcaseといいます。

例
There was a case in Canada where 2 people were murdered.
カナダで二人が殺害された事件があった。

「事件」は基本英語でincidentと言いますが、ネガティブな事件で使われている場合が多いため、ポジティブでも使われる場合はよくevent(s)と言います。
ニュースの報道している事件はネガティブなのもポジティブなのも含まれているので、全体を表してる時はよくeventsを使いますが、一つのネガティブな事件などはincidentと言います。

例）
Every day, the news is reporting on domestic and international events.

Yesterday, I saw an incident on the news in which a family was carjacked.
（昨日、ニュースで家族の車が乗っ取られた事件を見ました。）
