実験中って英語でなんて言うの？

いたずらの仕掛けがうまく行くように作業をしていた時、話しかけられたので・・・「今、実験中です」（うまく行くか確認していますというようなニュアンス）って言いたかったのですが、なんて言ったらよかったですか？

「今、実験中です」＝ I'm just testing it at the moment (to see if it works well or not) / I'm just experimenting at the moment /  I'm just checking it to see if it works
