1.) shallow (浅い) 浅いは英語でshallowです。
例えば、
I like to play in the shallow pool. (浅いプールで遊ぶのが好きです。)
I can see a lot of jellyfish in the ocean shallows. (浅い海でたくさんのクラゲを見えます。)
「浅い」は英語では shallow と言います。水深を説明している時にも使います。
「浅い海」の事を説明している時に ビーチの場合には「The water is shallow 」が自然な英語です。「海」は英語では ocean か sea と言いますが、ocean は「大洋」の意味で、sea は ocean より、小さい海です。「浅い海」は英語に直訳したら shallow ocean か The ocean is shallow と言いますが、大洋が全てのところが浅くないから不自然です。A shallow sea と言いましたら sea が大洋より広くないから a shallow sea と言ったら a shallow ocean より自然です。
「浅いプール」は英語では a shallow pool と言います。
例えば
Pools in Japan are very shallow. You can't dive.
日本にあるプールは結構浅いですね。潜れないですね。
欧米にあるプールでは一つのプールに浅いところと深いとろこがあります。
プールの浅いところ→ the shallow end
プールの深いところ→ the deep end
