英検って英語でなんて言うの？

英語能力検定は英語で「English proficiency test」と呼びます。
これは何故かというと、日本語能力検定は「Japanese proficiency test」と同様な為、同じ名称を使うのが賢明である為です。そうすれば、TOEICやTOEFLから識別される為、相手もよく分かります。

例文：
- I am studying for my Grade 1 English proficiency test in January

1.) Eiken (英検)　「英検」は試験の名前なので、英語でそのままに伝えます。もうし相手が英検のがわからない時は下の例えを使えばいいんです。
例えば、
Eiken is an English proficiency test in Japan. (英検は日本での英語能力試験です)

英検はそのままEIKEN (大文字）といいます。
英 - Ei (English) 検 - Ken （test)

英検はもちろん日本だけの試験だから海外の人と話したら”English Proficiency test”があります。

「英検」という試験の名前を英語で伝えると、「English proficiency test」と「English proficiency exam」または「English proficiency examination」になります。「English」は「英語」という意味があって、「proficiency」は「能力」という意味があります。「Test」と「exam」と「examination」は「試験」という意味があります。「English」は言語の名前ですので、大文字で始めます。
