It worked at first but then stopped playing halfway through.

1) You can't start playing the 〇〇 part way through.
「途中から再生できない。」
何の音声なのかがわからないので、〇〇のところに入れて言ってみてください。
part way through で「途中で」
2) You can only start from the beginning.
「最初からしか再生できない。」
start at the beginning と言っても同じ意味になります。
