In many restaurants, they use the word "portion", to describe the sizes of their meals.
You: How large is the portion?
Waiter: It is 200 grams and it comes with vegetables.
You: What are your portion sizes?
Waiter: Our small portion is 150g, and our large portion 300g.
多くのレストランは食事のサイズを表すときに "portion"（一人前）という言葉を使います。
あなた: How large is the portion?（一人前の量はどのくらいですか）

A polite way to ask for extra information is to say: "Could you tell me...?" It is less direct that just starting a question with "what".
A portion is the quantity of food; therefore, asking about the size of the portion will most likely elicit the response of large/medium/small.
追加で情報を求める丁寧な言い方に "Could you tell me...?" があります。これは単に "What" で質問を始めるよりも間接的です。
"Portion" とは食べ物の量のことです。ですから、"Size of the portion"（一人前の量）について尋ねると、おそらく "Large/medium/small"（ラージ／ミディアム／スモール）の答えが返ってきます。
"portion" "dish" and "entree" are all synonyms for the main course of a meal. If you are interested in the average size of a restaurant's dishes you could ask "how large are your portions?" I usually ask if a meal could be shared by two people to find out how large it is.

Sometimes at restaurants or when you eat out the size of the dish can be small so you might want to ask how big/large it is so you could ask 'how big is this dish?'
