1) If you put that story in a book, it will sell.
「その話を本にしたら、売れそう。」
put ... in a book で「本に載せる」という意味です。
2) If you write that story, it'll be a big seller.
「その話を書いたら、きっとよく売れるよ。」
本以外でも何かが売れそう、と言う場合は、 It will sell. を使って言えます。
