X が原型である動詞となります。
例えば、「探す」の原型は look for と言います。
そして、「安くする方法を必死に探す必要はない」 は I don't need to look for a way to make it cheaper. と英語で言います。
It's not necessary という形に当てはめても、動詞の原型を用いるので、It's not necessary to look for a way to make it cheaper と言います。
I don't really feel the need to cut corners that much when I'm on vacation.
I don't have to be that frugal when I travel.
この場合、次のような言い方ができますよ。
ーI don't really feel the need to cut corners that much when I'm on vacation.
「休暇中はそこまで節約する必要はない」
to cut corner で「（費用や経費を）節約する」
ーI don't have to be that frugal when I travel.
「旅行する時はそこまでつましくしないでいい」
frugal で「つましい・節約する」
