関西って英語でなんて言うの？

日本について、あるいは日本の地理について知識を持っている人なら、そのままローマ字のKansaiで分かる人もいます。 例 私は関西出身です。 I’m from the Kansai area. Kansaiが伝わらない場合は、他の説明をするしかないですね。例えばsouth-western Japan「日本の南西」あるいは、the area around Osaka and Kyoto 「大阪や京都の近辺」。

「関西」はそのまま「Kansai (region)」になりますが、日本地理について詳しくない外国人はどこにあるか分からないため、「Western Japan」に大まかに翻訳してもOKです。 また、もう少し具体的に説明したい場合、よく知られている都市などを選んで＋and surrounds （周辺）の方法もあります。 →　Osaka and surrounds →　Osaka, Kyoto and surrounds I come from the Kansai region →　関西から来ました。 I come from near Osaka →　大阪に近いところから来ました。

「関西」が英語でそのままの「Kansai」と言います。ちなみに、「Kansai」の「K」が必ず大文字です。 例文： 関西に三つの空港があります。　ー　There are three airports in the Kansai area 関西弁で話す。　ー　He speaks the Kansai dialect. 関西寿司は、主に関西地域の郷土寿司の総称。　ー　Kansaizushi is a general name of local sushi mainly in the Kansai region. 参考になれば嬉しいです。

ほとんどの場合では関西がそのまま英語になります。でも、日本のことを詳しく分からない人に説明したら、「the area around Kyoto and Osaka」と説明出来ます。他は「The south-western part of Honshu, the biggest island of Japan.」 例：関西弁を関東弁より好き。I like the Kansai dialect better than the Kanto dialect. I like the dialect around Kyoto and Osaka better than that of the Tokyo region. 例：京都は関西にある。Kyoto is in the Kansai region. ご参考にしていただければ幸いです。

地名ですので、関西（Kansai)　そのままでいいです。 ・The Kansai is located south-western of Japan. (関西は日本の南西部に位置しています。） ・Kyoto and Osaka are big cities in the Kansai area. (関西地方では京都や大阪が大きな町です。） ・Kansai people speak a Japanese district called 'Kansai-ben'. (関西の人々は関西弁と言われる日本語の方言を話します。） などと説明してみてもいいかと思います。 少しでも参考になれば幸いです。

関西はそのままKansaiといいます。 西日本だからWest Japanを言えるけれどもっと西行ったら九州あるからKansaiで大丈夫と思います。 関東の人と関西の人は全然違うよ。違う国みたい People from Kanto and people from Kansai are completely different. They are like different countries. 関西の人は関西弁喋ってる。ちょっと分かりにくい。 People in Kansai speak Kansai dialect. It’s difficult to understand.

関西は一応英語で「Kansai」と呼ばれています。もう二つの言い方は「Kansai region」又は「Kansai area」です。「region」と「area」は地域という意味です。関西は固有名詞なので、最初の文字はお文字になります。 関西人は関東の人よりうるさいと言われているが、暖かいとも言われてます。 Kansai people are said to be noisier than people from Kanto, but it is also said that they are kind. 長い休みが取れば、関西のどっかで旅したいですね。 If I can get a long break, I want to go on a trip somewhere in the Kansai region.
