October 2nd → 十月二日
only just begun → 始まったばかり
「～したばっかり」はonly justと動詞の過去形を使います。
例：only just happened → 今起こったばかり
「時差があるので」と言いたいならbecause of the time difference を最初か最後に付け足すことが出来ます。

We are still at the beginning of October 2nd in Canada.
この場合、次のような言い方ができますよ。
ーWe just started the second day of October in Canada.
「カナダでは10月2日が始まったばかりです」
ーWe are still at the beginning of October 2nd in Canada.
「カナダではまだ10月2日の始まりです」＝「始まったばかりです」
