  • I like to have a few drinks.

  • I enjoy having a few drinks.

An alcoholic is someone who consumes a lot of alcohol. They enjoy the feeling of getting drunk on a regular basis. They are addicted to this feeling. If you use one of these phrases: I like to have a few drinks or: I enjoy having a few drinks. You are pointing out the amount you are consuming: (a few), more than two, but not many, which won't make you sound like an alcoholic.

  • I like drinking sake

そうですね。おっしゃる通りです。 「I like drinking」と聞くと、「[遊び人](https://eikaiwa.dmm.com/uknow/questions/68434/)」とか発生期の「アル中」というイメージが湧きます。 - When I hear the words "I like drinking", I imagine a partygoer or nascent alcoholic. - I myself do not drink much, but I drink wine sometimes. The purpose is to pair with the food I eat and not to get drunk. ちなみにアル中を指すなら「He likes a drink」(彼は酒好きだ)とちょっと変えます。

  • I like a drink or two.

  • I enjoy drinking.

What a good idea. I agree. I do like a drink or two. So do I. But not like an alcoholic. No, me neither, just a few like an every day person. Agreed. I hope that helps. Have a great day. Will

  • I enjoy social drinking with my friends.

  • I love drinking sake and going out for drinks with my friends.

If you would like to explain to someone that you like drinking alcohol but do not want to sound like an alcoholic, you can say something like "I love drinking sake and going out for drinks with my friends.". This is a good way to express this without coming off as an alcoholic.

  • I like to have the occasional drink of Sake.

  • I like to drink Sake occasionally

  • My drink of choice / my preferred drink is Sake

By quantifying the amount we drink we are able to express our enjoyment of consuming alcohol with sounding like an alcoholic!! I like to have the occasional drink of Sake. / I like to drink Sake occasionally. By using the adverb 'occasionally' you are clarifying that you drink Sake from time to time rather than 'always'. To avoid indicating the frequency of your drinking habits, we can just say what our drink of choice (or preferred) drink is when we do drink. - My drink of choice is Sake / My preferred drink is Sake.

  • I like drinking a little sake

  • I like to have a few drinks occasionally

By saying that you like drinking a little sake, it sounds like you enjoy the drink, but you don't drink too much. Also, saying that you like to drink a few drinks occasionally states that you like to have a few (a small number of drinks) but not all of the time. :)

  • I like drinking now and again.

  • I like having a few drinks.

  • I enjoy drinking socially.

Using the phrase, "now and again," can represent that you do something fairly frequently but not in excess like an alcoholic would. We can also say that we like having, "a few drinks," because it can show that we never overdo it. Lastly, if we drink, "socially," means that we drink mainly in social situations and probably don't drink often alone.

  • I enjoy having a drink from time to time.

  • I like drinking sake.

You can use any of the above two sentences to tell someone that you enjoy having drinks, in a way that does not make you sound like an alcoholic. - I enjoy having a drink from time to time; means that you enjoy having a drink, but not all the time and everyday.
