どこかの国って英語でなんて言うの?

(食事や物について)どこかの国でみたことがあるんだけど…といいたい。

「どこか」は someplace か somewhere の言い方をします。 例: I bought this someplace in Croatia. これ、クロアチアのどこかで買ったの。 I saw this somewhere in Izu. これ、伊豆のどこかで見たの。 さらに、二つを合わせて言うときは、似ている同士を並んで「どこか」の意味を強調するの言い回しです。 I tasted this someplace, somewhere... どこかで味わったことがある... 「どこかの国」は同じ筋で、some countryです。しかし、countryは広いので、使うときはもっと情報を入れれば良いです。例えば、 I bought this in some country in Southeast Asia, I don’t remember which. 東南アジアのどこかの国で買ったんだ、一体どこなのかもう忘れた。 さらに、 I ate this in some country… 「どこかの国で食べたことあるな…」 という、明確に終わっていない言い方をすれば、聞き手がそれ以上答えを求めないですが、 I saw this in some country. 「どこかの国で見たことある。」 だけだと、「文章が終わっていても言うことはまだある」のニュアンスを持たせるので、言いたいことの文脈に沿ってこの表現を使いましょう。 ご参考になさってください。

「どこかの国」は英語で "in some country" と言います。 例文: I have seen this meal in some country. 「どこかの国でこの食事を見たことがある。」 I don't know where this painting is originally from, but I have seen it in some country. 「この絵はもともとどの国のものかはわからないが、どこかの国で見たことがある気がする。」 ご参考になれば幸いです。
