種類 = variety; type; kind
There is a large variety of cheese.
There are many [types / kinds] of cheese(s).
Variety / type / kind の後に of をつけますね。そして、type / kind に s をつけます。S をつけるので、are を使います：There are many types of cheese.
Cheese にも s をつけられますが、つけなくてもいいと思います。
「〜の種類が多い」と文章で説明する場合、"many kinds of~" または "a variety of~" のフレーズを英語で使います。"Kinds" と "Variety" はどちらも「種類」と言う意味です。
例文：
There are many kinds of cheese at this grocery store. 「このスーパーではチーズの種類が多い。」
There is a variety of products at the city center. 「市の中心街では商品の種類が多い。」
