９月は “September” ですが、「入学」は色々な言い方があります。 “starting school” は生徒さんに対して使えます。
例えば “He’s just turned six so he’ll be starting elementary school soon.” （彼は六歳になったばっかりですから、もうすぐ小学校へ通い始めます。）
学校のスケージュールに対しても”start” が使えます。
例えば “School starts after Labor Day in some American towns but before it in others.” (アメリカでは学校が労働の日の後に始まる町もあれば、労働の日の前に始まる町もあります。)
他には “enroll” と “matriculate” の言葉もあります。 “matriculate” は大学に入学する事です。 “enroll” も “matriculate” も学校の授業が始まる時の話ではなくて、生徒が学校に入学する時の話です。
例：
In your country, do students start school in September?
あなたの国では、学校は9月入学ですか？

Now, the Diet is considering the beginning of the academic year in September.
「現在、国会は9月の学年度開始を検討している」
