私の息子、一歳なんだけど、歳を尋ねられると’一歳’’って言えるんだよ。
sayを発音するというpronounceとしてもよいかもしれません。
My son, one year old, is about to be able to say 'Grand mother(obachan)'.
私の息子、一歳なんだけど、’おばあちゃん’ていえるすぐそこまできてるよ。
be about to~はaboutが回り、周り、を表しているので、to be able to sayに到達するすぐの所にいるという表現です。
または、すぐにsoonという副詞と、willという強い推量を表す助動詞を使って、
My son, one year old, will soon be able to say と表現することも可能です。
ーMy one year old son learned to say he is one.
「１歳の息子が１歳と言えるようになった。」
learned to say .... で「…と言えるようになった」と言えます。
ーHe can almost say "grandma".
「彼はもう直ぐ『おばあちゃん』と言えます。
can almost say ... で「もうすぐ…と言える」
例：
My twelve month old son is able to say his name and he's just about ready to say "nana" too.
