"A colleague of mine"＝「私の同僚」

"(although I'm not sure who)"=「でも誰かは分かりませんが」

"came to work although he/she had the flu."＝「インフルエンザに罹っていたのに、出勤しました。」

"Although he/she had the flu"＝「彼・彼女はインフルエンザに罹っていたのに」

"he/she came to work."＝「彼・彼女は出勤しました。」

"Although he ~ , he ~ ." が【〇〇なのに〇〇していた】になります。

Other examples: "Although I woke up earlier than usual this morning, I did not have time to eat breakfast."＝「今朝は通常より早く起きたのに、朝食を摂る時間がありませんでした。」
