せっかくだからフィリピンの事を知りたいって英語でなんて言うの？

フィリピン人の講師の方と話す際に使いたいです。ただ英語を学ぶだけでなく話相手の国の事を少しでも理解したいという気持ちを伝える為です。
日本語の「せっかくだから」に相当する語を特に知りたいです。
