「階段を走る」は、いちばん自然なのは run up the stairs（階段を駆け上がる）か run down the stairs（階段を駆け下りる）です。写真を見て言うなら、上に向かっているのか下に向かっているのかが大事なので、まず up / down を入れると伝わりやすいです。

のように言うのがスッキリします。複数人なら They’re、1人なら He’s / She’s です。
