上記の例のように簡単に訳すことができると思います。「like that」の代わりに「as such」や「in that way」を言う場合もあります。

因みに「考えるために」を言うために、「to think」と言います。翻訳の「for a bit」の後で来られます。

そうすれば、このフレーズになります。
