オンライン英会話の講師が毎回してくる質問について。レッスン前に英文（文章）を予習しておいて、レッスンの一番初めに意味をしっかり理解しているかの確認のために true or false の質問をされるのですが、その質問は冠詞の「a」を抜いたり、文章の意味とは関係ない複数形を単数形にしたりなどセンスがありません。少しうんざりしているのでこちらの意思をはっきり伝えたいと思っています。
Is that a question that's asking if you understand the meaning of the sentence or not?
Is that a question that's asking~?
その質問は~を問う質問？
to ask whether you understand~ or not
~を理解しているかどうかを問う
the meaning of this sentence
この文の意味
しかしthisを使うと、この一つの文、と言う意味になりますが、
theにしたら、一般的に聞かれる質問という意味ですので、theにしました。

例えば、

とすると、『この文章の意味を私が理解しているかどうか確かめるためにその質問をしていますか？』と聞くこともできます。
また、
Would it be possible for you to tell me the purpose of this question?
とすると、『この質問の目的を教えていただけませんでしょうか。』とも言えますね！
